General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Middle infections may not respond to oral drugs alone.Antibiotic ear drops should be used twice or thrice a day in order to relieve symptoms. Antibiotic drops along with local anaesthetic combination is available which can also provide good pain relief and reduce the discomfort. Any excess or impacted ear wax should also be checked for since it can also cause such ear pain.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
