Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a positive ANA test, homogeneous pattern recently from some blood work taken for a hematologist. I was referred to her because my platelets are high. She sent them to my primary Dr. who in turn emailed my rheumatologist about it. I was referred to a rheumatologist by a hospital because of sever joint pain and my abnormal lab work. They thought I was having a flare up of something. I have suffered from severe joint pain for several years without a diagnoses. The rheumatologist ran various lab tests and said all looked fine. Keep in mind this was several months later when I was no longer feeling bad. I started investigating on my own because my health is failing. I always have infections as well as pain and cant hardly function anymore and I have all the symptoms of SLE Lupus. So here s my question: My primary emailed me and said the rheumatologist felt that the positive test result was not significant and my primary agreed although she had told me that we may finally have answers . Should I seek a second opinion, or where should I go from here? Sorry its a long question. Lesley
