Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I fell on my knee in March 2105 on the ice. I have not experienced any pain until about 2 months ago. when I squat down, I feel pressure on the outside of my left knee. I also experience a dull ache on the front of my knee where it hit the pavement when I fell. What should I do?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent pain in knee after injury . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like baker's cyst , DVT , hamsting injury , achilles tendonitishematoma or knee sprain. In your case doctor may drain the hematoma. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor order CT scan, MRI along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory , methotrexate , recommend physical therapy . Doctor may recommend surgical removal of cyst and correction or other condition . For now apply warm compresses on lump , keep your leg elevated and keep it stable .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
