What Causes Persistent Pain In Lower Back?

My husband is having severe lower back pain on his left side for over a week. He s gone to the chiropractor two times and the pain is only getting worse. We can t find a knot in the muscles either. I ve massaged him as well with no help in symptoms. He can barely walk and he describes the pain as his muscles lock up in his lower back and wrap around to his lower abdomen. What should we do?

He should do an abdominal ultrasound at first, it may be a renal stone. Also He should take a sample of urine for exam.
