What Causes Persistent Pain In Lower Back?

Hi have had lower back pain for 10 plus years, but only when sitting, sleeping, hoovering, washing up, cooking dinner! if i stay in one position for more than a few minutes it starts to seize up and becomes extremely painful.... moving around, walking etc no problem at all... 3 years ago i started a new job, cleaning... i was hoovering for over 15 minutes, my back completely seized, i was in agony, i was off work for a month! and had physio twice a week for that month.. please help

I understand your concern.
As per your history it seems that you are having cord compression. Kindly get an X-ray done both AP view as well as lateral view.Start taking Vitamin D3 60,000IU once weekly along with 1500mcg methylcobalamin daily. For local releuef of pain you can apply any analgesic ointment and even can take diclofenac potassium for pain. Consult any neurologist for your pain and till then avoid forward or backward bending as this will aggrevate your pain.
