What Causes Persistent Pain In Lower Left Abdomen?

I m having pain in my lower left abdomen for the past couple of days. it seems to get worse when I lie down. It has woken me up the last two nights. It subsides during the day. When I massage the area with the tips of my fingers I can localize the source of the pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are many reasons for the pain in low left abdomen such as diverticulitis, hernia, gas, indigestion etc. Maybe is better to take an appointment with your doctor because to give a correct answer needs a full anamnesis, a physical examination and abdominal ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
