What Causes Persistent Pain In Right Rib Cage Area?
I have a persistent pain in my right rib cage area. It woke me up during the night 2 nights ago. Subsided during the day and was completely gone by last night. This morning I was fine. Then at mid-morning it began to come back and has been increasing in strength. It is a constant, glowing sort of pain. Hard to describe. Intense but not a sharp stab. The area involved begins just to the right of my right breast and goes around to my back to about the shoulder blade area. Feels deep not something on the surface. Body position does not matter. Tylenol does not help. On a scale of 1-10, I d call it a 6 or 7. I did not injure myself or do any strenuous exercise. No other symptoms at this point. Just very uncomfortable. Makes me pace and try to find a comfortable position. Any ideas?
I believe this pain can be related to costochondritis or inflammation of the cartilage in the sternum. There is not a certain cause for it. I think you can use ibuprofen for this pain.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
