What Causes Persistent Pain In The Buttocks?

In 1995, I had an operation to remove a neurofybroma. Just to the left of my waist. Like L-5. After years of pain and struggling with adhesions, into my buttocks area, I am at my witts end with this. No amount of hot water/cold compresses, pills, diet etc etc helps . WHAT is the cure?? Before I loose my mind? I word in my yard, and it flairs them up, if i sit too long, they flare up, . Disgusted. thank you for any help you may offer.

Hi,

You may need to have fresh MRI spine specially lumbo-sacral area to look for the compression symptoms as well as any nerve impingement. If so medical therapy may not reverse the condition.

Minor surgeries to relieve those adhesions by a neurosurgeon may he considered. If OTC analgesics like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen have failed to control pain, more potent analgesic like Tramadol or Gabapentin may be considered.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
