What Causes Persistent Pain In The Knee?

I m having pain in my knee where I have difficulty in putting any weight on it. I m having problems walking. There is swelling on the top above my knee cap. I did apply an ice pack and that reduced the swelling, but the pain is still there. I m 68 years old and quite active. I played tennis earlier today but did not experience any problems until 4 hours later.

Hi,

Based on your situation, I think you should meet an orthopedic specialist and should make a knee X-ray to define better your situation. During this time, you should use Ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation and the pain.

Hope I have answered your query.
