What Causes Persistent Pain In The Right Knee Despite Taking Medication?

Hi my name is Tigist, I am 35 years old my weight is 58 and Hight 150 meter. I have a pain on my right knee. While I was in India I took MRI and x-Ray test and the result said I have a tear on my knee and the Dr ordered a surgery (knee ausrocopy) and tablets cartigen, Bon k2 and Retoz but I still have a pain even much worse. What shall I do? Do I have to continue taking the medicines or shall I stope before I manage to have the surgery? Does it have any worse result in the future like cancer? Please let me know what will be it s worse effect? Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

A severe knee pain with swelling of the leg can be due to arthritis, bursitis or DVT. Proper diagnosis needs a direct examination and few investigations like X-ray and color Doppler of the leg. Till then mild pain killers, rest hot compress, application of local analgesic gel and a knee brace can help.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
