What Causes Persistent Pain In The Upper Foot?

The top of my foot has been hurting for over 1 month and is getting worse. I cannot wear shoes that touch the area. X-rays show no broken bones. The only way I can walk is to put all of my weight on the heel of my foot. My pup seems perplexed. Any ideas/suggestions?

I can understand your concern.
No need to worry for fractures as your x ray is normal.
Soft tissue injuries (ligamental and muscular) can also cause similar kind of pain, walking difficulty with normal x ray.
So get done MRI of foot to identify soft tissue injuries.
Yoi will need immobilization of foot, bandage, painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs.
Foot elevation while sleeping is also beneficial.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
