What Causes Persistent Pain In Upper Back Radiating Towards Shoulder And Neck?
I m having a constant pain in my upper back between my shoulder blades that travels to my neck with sudden or certain movements. The pain gets worse with movement of both arms, started with just one, raising up from laying down is the hardest, turning my head. I have what looks like a pocket on my shoulder blade the size of a softball and with touch there s pain. The pain feels as if I have a pinch nerve and it s just constantly there pinching it. It started the days ago with what I though was a crook in my neck and proceeded from there. Please help can I do anything to relieve the pain

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, I understand your concern. You seem to have symptoms of cervical spondylosis. ..which( as you have rightly guessed) causes pinching of nerves supplying back /shoulder area. You need x ray/ CT scan/ MRI of cervical spine followed by an orthopedic doctor's care /consultation. Treatment consists of anti inflammatory medicines/ physiotherapy/ surgery in some cases. Thanks.
