What Causes Persistent Pain On The Head?

Thank you Doctor. In the year 1996 I was sitting on zula and suddenly it came down and the steel bar hit my head, but there was no bleeding internally or externly or any boil. I had shown to a female neurologist in kem hospital which advised some medicine for subsidising pain as there was no health risk. But on increasing age I get pain no other ailments. I am 1964 born. Pl advise. Regards. Shambhavi 0000

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I understand your concern.

The pain in head you are getting now is not due to the trauma you had in your childhood.
It may be because of hypertension/migraine/tension headache.
Information you provided is too less to arrive at any diagnosis.
I need to ask you,
-what is type and site of headache?
-do you get palpitations?
-do you get an aura of nausea, vision disturbances before headache ?
-do you experience arm or leg weakness ?

If I were your treating doctor,I recommend,
-Blood Pressure measurement, blood glucose, blood lipids, ophthalmic examination for visual acquity and intraocular pressure measurement by tonometry.
-Take analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen twice for couple of days along with antacids.
-Visit to neurologist for further evaluation if headache persists.

Hope this information helps.
Feel free to ask any more doubts.
