What Causes Persistent Painful Lymph Node Swelling?
Hi my name is Christine, since October I have had a swollen right lymph node in my neck that has progressively become larger and painful to the extent of inhibiting motion of the right side of my neck. On top of that I have been having a very irregular menstrual cycle for the past 5 months. Every blood test conducted on me has come back negative for any kind of infection and I have been on several different antibiotics. What are your suggestions for causes?
hi there, you need to get a fine needle aspiration cytology done on the neck swelling as it could be that its not a lymph node but may be a parotid swelling or any other growth or tumor. Once the origin of the swelling is ascertained then necessary treatment can be formulated. Do get a consult done as quickly as possible. Your irregular cycles may not be related to the swelling and visit a gynecologist for assessment of the same as any number of hormonal or organic cause can lead to dysfunctional uterine bleeding. take care
