What Causes Persistent Phlegm And Mucus? Suggest Medication

Hi, my 10 months old son has been having persistent phlegm and mucus which wouldn't go away despite taking several prescribed phlegm and airway clearing mixtures. Is this normal during this phase or is there any particular reason that this happens I.e dusty environment , air-con? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe, it appears that it is called the tracheo bronchitis. It is due to the allergy, and super infection, with the bacteria. There also may be eosinophelia.
I advise you to consult a pediatrician for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime, phenylephrine, citrizine, terbutaline,di ethyl carbamazine citrate. If needed steroids may be given.
Nebulizers are usually used for immediate relief.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
