For the past month I have had a single pin prick pain on my hip. Sometimes the skin runs warm and is a bit hard (size of a tennis ball). It doesn t hurt when I run or exercise, but only when I put pressure. The pin prick is uncomfortable and hasn t gone away but is non stop.

persistent pin prick pain may be indication of hip joint arthritis...you should see your general practioner..he may order a x ray hip joint and run a few lab tests...
