What Causes Persistent Problem In Balancing When With A History Of Vertigo?
I had an attack of vertigo in January 2001. I was told it was caused by a virus and would run its course and be over. However, I still have problems with balance. These problems have gotten better over the past 4+ years, but still linger. Is there something I can do to get my sense of balance back?
As per your query you have problem of balancing along with a history of vertigo . Well there can be many reasons for vertigo like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, inflammation within the inner ear sometimes due to infection, head injury , certain medications and due to cervical spondylosis, meniere's disease , acoustic neuroma , sinusitis and multiple sclerosis migraines . There are other simple reasons also like low blood sugar and iron level . I would suggest you to consult with ENT specialist for proper checkup so that there will not be any further complication . Doctor may order certain test like CT scan , MRI , blood test , audiometery test , rotatory chair test and ECG to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe ant bacterial drugs ( amoxicillin ) at least for 10 days , along with sedative , antiemetic drug and multivitamin supplement for quick healing . Drink green tea with ginger thrice a day and drink lots of fluids like juices and water . Avoid caffeine product .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
