What Causes Persistent Sharp Pain In Abdomen?

Hi, i woke up today morning with a sharp pain in my stomach and lower abdomen. However after bowel movement the pain in the lower abdomen stopped but the stomach pain was there for a good hour or so and then kept coming back and going from time to time. can this be due to gas or some serious issue? i m a smoker and light drinker. The pain in the stomach felt like as if someone had punched me.

it can be due to flatulence gastritis pyloric steno sis . take bland diet, with omiprazole and tab uni enzyme. stop smoking and reduce frequency of drinking can have endoscopy after consultation with gastroenterologist.drink more water and take fiber rich diet.
