What Causes Persistent Sinus Pressure Along With Swollen Lymph Nodes?
Hello, for a little over two weeks now I have been having sinus pressure headaches, an earache and a swollen lymph node under and behind my ear. The strange thing is , I am not sick with a cold, nor have I been. But the pressure and pain is really getting to me. I also have pressure behind my nose and across my cheeks.
I have gone through you query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain although you are not having any cold like symptoms but sinus pressure, headache and swollen lymph nodes is due to sinus infection as well as ear infection causing earache.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Otoscopy of ear and PNS View or MRI of the sinuses to confirm the infection.. In case of infection he can advise you to take antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Motrin, decongestant like Pseudoephadrine, steroid nasal sprays, saline nasal irrigation and steam inhalations.. Put Gentamycin ear drops.. Do warm compresses over the lymph nodes..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
