What Causes Persistent Sneezing And Severe Body Aches?

Onset of severe cold(?) for two days. More sneezing than I have ever had (age 60). The last two times I have sneezed I have experienced extremely painful pins and needles all over my upper torso followed by extreme body ache that takes several minutes to subside. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Flu can cause irritation of the nasal mucosa and hence causing sneezing. I understand it's may be quite frustrating but mostly it's not serious. It's viral and settles within few days. The body aches and pin and needles are also common with viral infections.

You can use some antihistamine like Zyrtec for few days to combat the allergic reaction and paracetamol for the body aches.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
