What Causes Persistent Stiffness In Neck With Dizziness?
I ve been having a stiff neck for a while. After a week s time it turned into a headache with some dizziness. The headaches come an go but the stiff neck is constant. Im not sure if i should really be concerned. Its going on 3 weeks. Tylenol only helps for a couple hour s.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent stiffness in neck with dizziness . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to cervical spondolysis , cervical radiculopathy or ear problem like meniere's disease .
The symptoms can also occur due to one more condition known as bruxism. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may take history , order x-ray , CT scan or MRI of neck to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory , recommend physical therapy or particular stretching exercises .
Doctor may refer you to ENT specialist again for proper checkup . For now avoid bending forward , drink green tea thrice a day and apply warm compresses to neck . Doctor may also refer you to dentist for bruxisn , who may give night guard .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
