Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had migraines for a week and took excedrin, Aleve, and was prescribed hydrocodone. I took maybe 3-4 hydrocodone (not at once and did not combine any). I am now waking up nauseated and sometimes all day - going on 5 days. Have had problems with irritated stomach in the past and my gastro dr. has me take carafate as needed. Have added Prilosec. Could the things I was taking over a week cause my stomach upset to last awhile?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Yes the multiple drug consumption done throughout the day (probably taken on an empty stomach )can cause your problem. For your present complaints- -Avoid taking any of the pills on an empty stomach. Take at least a glass of coldmilk. -Avoid spicy food or oily food difficult to digest. -Avoid tea/coffee/alcohol/smoking. -Try tab. Ranitidine (over the counter)150 mg two or three times a day. -Inform your doctor before you take another such course... so that he can add some preventive dose along with the medications. Thanks
