What Causes Persistent Strong Headaches Post Concussion?

I have a concussion right now and I was getting better until an AP textbook dropped on my head 2 days ago. My headaches are pretty strong but most of the time it feels like sinuses; it gets worse if I decide to do an activity. I can t really read, comprehend or memorize anything right now. I don t feel well enough to go to school and I understand I missed more than a couple of days but my school doesnt give accomodations so upon return I have to give in 2 papers, take 3 quizzes, and 3 tests. I don t really know how I m suppose to when I can t read a lot and comprehend things. In your professional opinion how should I proceed?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per you query you have persistent strong headaches post concussion because the linning of the nose or mucosa of nose get dry and minor touch or injury can make cut in it or migraine can also cause such symptoms . The headache is caused by dilation of blood vessels of brain when high and also gives the symptoms of concussion.

I would suggest you to quit smoking or drinking if you are doint presently or keep your self well hydrate ,which is very important .

If such symptoms persist for longer time or occur frequently consult neurologist for proper evaluation and treatment . Doctor may order CT scan and MRI to confirm the diagnosis .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
