What Causes Persistent Swelling And Congestion In Throat?
I have a perpetually swollen throat with no soreness. I speak for a living and sometimes after a full day at work, it s worse. I constantly feel like I need need to clear my throat, like thick drainage or mucous is always present. Sometimes I am able to produce mucous, but it is always clearish, not like a nasal infection.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent swelling and congestion in throat. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sore throat (viral or bacterial), post nasal drip, sinusitis, granular pharyngitis and acid reflux. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles several times a day , keep your head elevated while sleeping , avoid eating spicy and heavy food , reduce intake of dairy products and avoid smoking . Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like swab test , viral culture test , CT scan and physical examination with laryngoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibacterial or anti viral depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants , diphenhydramine and expectorants .
