Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Thanks for providing a detailed history of your symptoms. The symptoms like persistent headache since last one year, fatigue, insomnia, non refreshing sleep, hair loss, persistent nausea, vomiting, muscle and joint pains, mood swings,
restless legs, bowel complaints etc can occur due to a number of psychiatrist conditions. Depression with somatic symptoms,
somatisation disorder,
fibromyalgia or
chronic fatigue syndrome etc are differential diagnosis of these symptoms. To confirm the diagnosis and for treatment I'd advise you to
consult a psychiatrist for evaluation.
As the chief concerns are headaches, joint and muscle pains, sleep problems, non refreshing sleep etc so most likely these symptoms point more towards Depression with somatic symptoms or Somatisation disorder. Medicines especially SNRIs can prove helpful in such symptoms. Duloxetine,
Venlafaxine,
Milnacipran etc are commonly used SNRIs. These medicines help to reduce the mood symptoms and will relieve the pain also. Apart from this for persistent muscle and joint pains medicines like Gabapentin or Pregabalin can be used. These medicines will help to provide good refreshing sleep also. Please consult a psychiatrist for prescription of these medicines.
Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
Dr. Seikhoo Bishnoi,
Psychiatrist.
