General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you have Pharyngitis you are suggested to gargle your throat 3-4 times a day with salt water. Take food that is semi solid like porridge, oats, custard, etc. Avoid taking raw food and veggies. Take warm soups and beverages.

Pain and soreness is indicative of strep throat and bacterial infection. You need a course of oral antibiotics (Doxycycline or Augmentin) to relieve soreness and inflammation. Avoid addictions if any. Since you have pain throat give voice rest. You can take acetaminophen, one SOS to relieve pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
