Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Twitching Sensation In Arms And Legs?
For the past 10 days I have been experiencing muscle twitching in arms and legs. For the past 2-3 days some tingling started in lower legs and feet and lower arms and hands. I have been trying to stay hydrated. Something to note: I started ingesting a metabolic blend of Doterra essential oils on the same day the twitching started. I did stop that 4 days ago and still have the symptoms
Muscle twitching can happen from many causes like electrolyte imbalance, stress, or poor sleep. I am not sure whether it is related to the metabolic blend. Try to have adequate sleep, relieve any physical or mental stress and have a healthy diet rich in green vegetables and fruits. Avoid caffeinated drinks and sweets. If no improvement in 1 week, kindly consult your doctor, as this needs evaluation for any electrolyte imbalance like hypokalemia or hypocalcemia.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
