What Causes Persistent Twitching Sensation In The Upper Chest?

my name is Michael. Recently, while at work, I begin feeling twitching going on in my upper chest directly on the boob, over the heart. I went to the emergency room, who did an ekg, and extensive blood work, wherein I had go give blood in a 4 hour span to check to ensure the heart wasn t releasing enzymes indicating I was having or had a heart attack. All reports were negative, yet I still continue to have this twitching...Help!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it seems most likely to be muscular however it's good to get cardiac causes ruled out by the extensive work up which has come normal but echocardiogram may also be asked alongside chest X-ray to rule out any internal visceral pathology.

If work up is unremarkable OTC analgesics like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with muscle relaxants like Tizanidine or Orphenidine may be helpful.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
