What Causes Persistent Vaginal Bleeding After Thyroid Surgery?

I had thyroid surgery a few years ago. My thyroid just came back 0.34. My doc dropped me to .50mcg of Synthroid. I had a pap recently and I bled badly. This was 10 days ago, and the bleeding is increasing more and more with massive blood clots. I had a slight abnormal cell pap a year ago. Awaiting results of my recent pap. Is it normal to bleed for so long after a pap, and so heavy. I was not due to get my period until June 26th. My pap was June 9th.

Hi I think it is not normal to bleed for so long after paps smear. It can be due to some cervical pathology. So, you have to wait till the report comes. You can take some medicines like tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Hope it helps.
