What Causes Persistent Vomiting Despite Cholecystectomy?

since 1980 my husband has attacks of vomiting. all times of day or night, no seeming consistencies. after he vomits, then he s good to go. there is pain, they have become more regular and a couple of years ago it was so bad he went to the emergency room, they said he needed his gall bladder out and after surgery they said his gallbladder was healthy. he still has these bouts of vomting. is there any answer? 2. I have been diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa and my vision has been legally blind for about 12 years. I try to find any new research but have found nothing here in U.S. ONE PLACE RECOMMENDED VIT A, 20 MG LUTEIN, BUT ALSO SAID LIVER MAY BE INVOLVED AND I KNOW VIT A WORKS AGAINST LIVER IF TOO MUCH IS TAKEN. ANY RESEARCH SUGGESTIONS?

Hi,

Noted the different history about you and your husband.
Recurrent vomiting, feeling better after vomiting indicates one of the following things to be ruled out by Upper GI Endoscopy, Barium studies or Contrast Enhanced CT scan of abdomen with Enteroclysis.
Intestinal obstruction at the small intestine or Jejunum by pancreas or so.
Cyclical vomiting.
Severe gastritis with lax lower esophageal sphincter.
One a correct diagnosis is made the treatment will be specific.
About your retina pigmentosa.
You can decide the dose of Vitamin A and others by conducting the blood levels to decide the exact dose you have take and also to review regularly, try out under your Doctor's guidance, may help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
