Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Vomiting With Sleep Apnea And Bleeding Ulcers?
Hi Dr. My husband is 65 yo. He is IDDM , HBp, h/o bleeding ulcers. Sleep apnea. . He has been up several times this evening vomitting , I did not see the content but he describes it as having peanuts in it. Which he did consume earlier today. No diarrhea . I just witnessed his vomitus just now ,there was no visible food content. It appeared light brownish yellow. Thank you Dr.
He might be having a complication like Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) which can give rise to vomiting. He needs clinical evaluation and work-up like random blood sugar, serum creatinine, serum electrolytes and urine routine analysis and treatment accordingly. He needs to visit ER (Emergency room).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas, Internal Medicine Specialist
