What Causes Persistent Vulvovaginitis Despite Taking Medication?
I treated a yeast infection 3 weeks ago with Monistat 1. It worked! My symptoms were itching, burning and also swelling. I have had yeast infections before but never the swelling. Now i still have a little itching but not as bad. I used the vagisil cream after I ran out of the monistat itch cream and I started back swelling up and itching very badly. Should i just go to a doctor to end the problem for good or will the swelling go down with another treatment of monistat?
From your symptoms ,it is likely that you are suffering from allergy due to some ingredient in the vagisil cream.Stop using the cream immediately.
You will need to confirm whether you have yeast infection. In case of curdy white discharge and itching, you can continue with monistat cream. In case of severe infection, oral drugs may be required.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
