i have twin babies.one boy and one girl.after a week from there birth a yellowish greenish pigment started coming out from their eyes.we consulted paedtrician and he suggested tobacin eye drops.the eyes were watery also.he suggested an eye exercise.there was no improvement till the end of first month.then other doc suggested soframycin eye drops(4-5 times per day) and tobacin eye ointment(at night).it had an effect and at the end of second month my children were fine.the problem again surfaced at there fouth month.we again started the same eye drops and ointment--but there was no satisfactory result.we stopped the medicine for some time and then restarted it again.now it shows a considerable improvement.what can be the cause for this problem? when will this end and do these eye drops have a side effect on the eye sight too? pls suggest

What Causes Persistent Watery Eye Discharges?
hi dear what you are mentioning are the recurrent superficial infections they doesn t seem to be related to obstruction in the drainage path of tears as this is intermittent and not constant child s overall decrease in immunity can invite this so just be watchful for other infections also considering their age continue with tobramycin eye drops 3-4 times a day and same ointment at night there are no bothersome side effects of this good luck may god bless your kids a healthy life
