General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The usual cause of weight gain is hormone imbalance as that of
- Thyroid hormone
- Corticosteroids
- Others

The renal cell carcinoma or radical nephrectomy is not routinely associated with weight gain issue. However, rest of the possibilities of hormone or endocrine disorders have to be evaluated by thorough clinical examination, basic lab tests and radiology data for the best diagnosis and cure accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
