What Causes Persistent Wheezing And Congestion Despite Taking Antibiotics?

I have an upper respiratory infection/bronchitis. I went to the doctor Friday and received prescriptions for antibiotics and a steroid. Although I do feel much better, I still feel like things are not clearing well in my chest. I still feel wheezy with some congestion. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There is a possibility of an untreated infection.

I suggest you do a chest x-ray to confirm the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I suggest drinking liquid and rest.

I also suggest using an antihistamine such as Cetirizine to treat the congestion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
