What Causes Phlegm To Come Out Like White Strings?
Hello, I had a cold and flu two weeks ago with persistant cough. However the cold and flu is gone and now there is the occasional non stop cough for a few minutes. Since this morning, i feel like taking something off my throat and it comes out as a long string of what appears to be phlegm but its not yellow, its sort of white and i can feel it up down my throat. I pulled the string and it was rather long and could feel it coming through my throat and nose too. Now i have that urge to remove it and its irritating my throat.
Dear I think your suffering from post nasal discharge with dried up mucous. It may due dry environment and some food, or allergies or sinusitis, that produces excess amounts of mucous it may dried cause your problem. So avoid Dairy products, environmental allergen, avoid cool drinks and freeze water, avoid acid reflex etc.. Use water vapor inhalation regularly, use normal Saline nasal spray. Still symptoms persisten you need to consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions please feel free to ask.
Take care
