What Causes Piece Of Skin Hanging Under Tongue?

I am 19 years old I have a little piece of skin that hanging/looks swollen under my tongue. It is painful when i touch or think about it, however when im talking i forget about it. I looked up salivary gland infections and i dont think thats the problem because it has not swelled that much. Does anyone know what it is or maybe what to do to keep the pain down?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
EHi, ther is usually a small mucosal tag seen on undersurface of the tongue in most of the people, it is normal, in case of salivary gland swelling it will be progressive or size will increase during consumption of food, if you feel the size of swelling is increasing or is associated with pain then consult an ent specialist, take care.
