What Causes Pigmentation Around The Ankles?
I am a fair skinned, freckled redhead, 53 years old. I have noticed my skin pigment is getting darker around my ankles on both legs. I am a vigorous walker and my legs are well-toned. Is this a circulation issue? How can I stop the pigmentation changes?

Consult a dermatologist and get evaluated to make a diagnosis. The varicose vein can cause ankle pigmentation and you might require a Doppler scan to look for varicose veins.
