What Causes Pimple Like Bumps And Dark Spots On Foot?
My adult son has felt pain in his foot all day at work. When he pulled off his sock he found that on the top of his foot a bunch of pimple like bumps with black dots in the middle were spreading with a small amount of swelling. he also commented that their was some pusing. What should be our plan of action? Wait until tomorrow or should he go down to eargent care tonight.
It sounds like some sort of bacterial or fungal infection most likely affecting the skin of forefoot. There is no hurry to rush at an ER for paying extra bucks of dollars, rather follow basic guidelines: - Clean the forefoot with antiseptic liquid or soap - Avoid use of socks at present - Wear soft padded slippers and avoid tight fitting shoes - Avoid walking barefoot - Control of blood sugar - Local application of polymycin cream - Analgesic or anti-histamine medicine if there is pain or itching respectively
Fix the appointment with your primary care for further course of action as antibiotics and anti-fungal medications to cure it at earliest.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
