What Causes Pimple Under The Lip With Swelling And Soreness?

i have what looks and feels to be a pimple under the surface of my skin right above my upper lip. I noticed it around noon, but as the day progressed my lip started swelling. it is very sore. i have ice on it currently, but it is still continuing to swell. please let me know what this is and what i can do

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a bump over the upper lip seems to be due to hair follicle infection and not a pimple and swelling over the lip can be due to inflammation caused due to folliculitis..
You should take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin or Cephelexin as folliculitis is mostly bacterial infection, take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, apply triple antibiotic ointmemt and steroid containing intment over the bump, keep doing cool compresses over the bump as well as the lip, take anti-histamine like allegra to reduce swelling.
Avoid scratching over the bump and do not press or suck the lip..
Keep the area clean to prevent further infection.
