What Causes Pinching Pain In The Back Of The Knee After Standing?
Hello, I recently began experiencing a stinging, pinching pain in the back of my left knee after I stand. The pain will go away after a few minutes of hobbling on my leg, but will return the next time I sit down. I have had a Baker s cyst before but this seems to be a different pain that what I had then. I do have some swelling in this knee on a regular basis, but I figured that could be arthritis since I am a 66 year-old woman. Do you think this is a reoccurrence of the Baker s cyst?
Baker's cyst is a condition where the excessive knee fluid is pushed in the small sacs behind the knee. This is associated with: - swelling ( as in your case) - Pain (due to compression of nearby nerves (as you say to have tingling pain)
Arthritis will increase knee fluid with the Baker's cyst as the final end.
I highly recommend to see an orthopedic specialist and run arthroscopy or x-ray for further evaluation and appropriate treatment.
Wish fast recovery.
