What Causes Pink Colored Dot In The Middle Of Tongue?
I was born with a big pink dot almost in the middle of my tounge but a little ferternity back and it doesn't bother me and I can't feel it. It just looks gross and not normal so I have always thought it was just and overgrown taste bud yet, when I looked that up both in looked anything like what I have. Do u know what it is?
As per your query a gross pink dot over the tongue surface can be an overgrown tongue papillae or can be a Hemangioma or a leiomyoma or a fibrous tissue overgrowth known as Fibroma.. It can also be a benign tumour of muscles..
The exact nature of the lesion can be diagnosed by getting a biopsy done and you should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he/ she can advise you to get a biopsy done to rule out the exact cause of the lesion and treatment can be planned accordingly..
In case of Hemangioma Sclerotherapy that is using sclerozing agent for reducing the size of the lesion can help.. In case of tumour or fibroma surgical excision can be done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
