Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 10 year old son started with vomiting and a fever on Thursday that progressed to a sore throat. I took him to the Dr. Friday and the strep screening test was negative. I have not yet heard back on the culture. He still has a fever of 101 to 102 and the sore throat. He now has nasal congestion and drainage and what looks like pink eye. Should I take him back to the Dr. tomorrow?

What Causes Pink Eye, Vomiting And Fever?
Hi Welcome to health care magic, Your child s fever, cold, vomiting and throat pain could be due to upper respiratory infection or allergic rhinitis or bronchitis etc. As streptococcus test was negative then we can suspect it is to be having viral infection. You take advise from pediatrician for complete clinical assessment and appropriate treatment. He might require oral antibiotics (cephalosporins or macrolides group preferred), antipyretics and antihistamines. For nasal congestion and drainage, give him nebulization with steam inhalation 3 to 4 times day. Consult pediatric doctor for further treatment. Regards,
