What Causes Pink Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy?

Hello, I am currently 4 weeks 4 days pregnant. The other day I had a very light pink dischare after a bowel movment. Ever since then I have had light brown dischare after every bowel movment. It only happens after a bowel movment. I have no cramps and no backaches. Is this a normal sign of pregnancy?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi,

I can understand your concern. Yes, this kind of light pink vaginal discharge is common is first six months of pregnancy. Since you are not having cramps or backache or bleeding, no need to worry for miscarriage. This is mucus produced in the vagina due to high levels of beta hCG. This discharge will gradually subside after 6 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar,
