What Causes Pinkish Brownish Spotting After Getting Skyla IUD Removed?
I ve had my skyla removed and I have some concerns 2 days after I ve had pinkish brownish spotting is this nor ... I also had unprotected sexwith my fiancé right before removal are there any pregnancy risk . Haven t had a period since March 28th for about 4 days , anything I should be worried about
Skyla IUD (intrauterine device) contains levonorgestrel which is used to prevent pregnancies from unprotected sexual intercourses and to treat heavy menstrual periods. Skyla IUD only contains a progestin called levonorgestrel which is similar to woman's natural hormone, progesterone. It is a small T shaped polyethylene frame device that acts as long term birth control method.
You may notice some bleeding, spotting or pinkish brown discharge between menstrual periods, especially during the first 3-6 months, but may be worse in the first 1-2 weeks after removal of Skyla IUD. Sometimes the bleeding, spotting or discharge becomes heavier than usual for the first few days after removing Skyla IUD. It may take up to 3 months for your normal menstrual period to return after removal of the intrauterine device (IUD).
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
