What Causes Pinkish Bump On Shaft Of Penis?

Hi,I ve recently discovered a small pinkish bump on the shaft of my penis about 2cm above where my scrotum. The bump is about 8mm in diameter and a slight reddish/pinkish colour. I have not engaged in any sexual relations in my life so I doubt it is an STD but I am still concerned. It doesn t hurt in any way not is it itchy or uncomfortable.Through research online I find the closest definition to be Lichen Planus I believe it s called. Kind regards - Richard

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Bumps on the penis shaft can be as a result of skin allergic reaction due to contact with substances such as condom latex, soap or the undergarments.
Usually an allergic reaction is very irritating and painful and may result to skin redness or spots.
I suggest using a sterid cream for local application such as Calamine lotion.
I alos suggest to use a fragrance free detergent.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
