Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently noticed pink in my stools. I have starting working a night shift. Midnight to midday. We get fed at midday and 0530. On rising, I head on shift and have several coffees. I then go to the toilet. Last night and tonight, Ive noticed my stools are loose and watery. The watery stuff is pinkish!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pinkish tinge in watery stools. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query ,but blood in diarrhea ( pinkish tinge ) may be in bacterial infection due to food poisoning , inflammatory bowel disease , crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis , colorectal cancer or piles . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , stool test along with endoscopy . Doctor may prescribe ornidazole , anti inflammatory , medicine like sucralfate and laxative to soften the stool . For now eat more fibrous diet like fresh fruits and vegetables , drink plenty of water and avoid spicy food .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
