What Causes Piriformis Syndrome Along With Frequent Drop Attacks?

Need to find a surgeon that will remove a needle that was left in me 26 years ago. Found out last year. Have been having Piriformisis syndrome for 10 years now and unexplained falling throughout the 26 years. Seems to be worse, considering weight gain. Have been passed around from doctor to doctor because I did not know exactly what was going on, till now or hope since I m not a doctor.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In pyriformis syndrome, the pyriformismuscle contracts to press sciatic nerve in sciatic notch. Compression of the nerve hampers nerve supply to leg muscles. Making them weak causing fall. Consult a orthopedic surgeon for specific advise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
