What Causes Pitting Edema After Injecting Methamphetamine Into A Vein In Calf?
About four days ago I injected methamphetamine into a vein in my medial calf. It stung, so I think I missed, or at least partially missed. Now I am noticing I have pitting edema in that region. I feel no heat or redness from it, a little tender but not much at all, just the pitting....what could be happening????
In this case, there is a possibility of you missing the vein and contents of the syringe accumulating in subcutaneous tissue of the local area. However, normally, this type of leakage should not cause any problem and it should subside itself after some time without any specific treatment. However, you might have a delayed effect of the injection, due to delayed absorption in the veins.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
