What Causes Polyps In The Colon?

I had a routine colonoscopy today and the MD found 6 polyps ranging from 3 to 7mm in the sigmoid,descending and ascending colon.He is sending it out to pathologist and should hear back in 5-7 days.I m not sure how big 3-7mm is and should I be worried?

@ Polyps may be benign ( non cancerous ) or malignant ( cancerous ) .
@ 3 - 7 mm sizes are very small , do not panic until the biopsy report
which will only show the cause .
